OCD House roundup

Ongoing mega-project notes, feel free to disregard.

Planning and CC all pretty much as done as can be. Some pre-build design of individual rooms will be useful, will start today. Remember to create v1.0 without CC for potential upload use and as a bluelot backup. Restrain self from putting in anything more than strictly necessary. Further minimal CC 1.1 version also in order before full customization begins.

Sunken lounge in Gentlemen's Club still problematic. Could possibly use the service layer to create correct split level, but if it's possible will need to hide the wall distortion somehow. Mirrors with potted bamboo in front suitably pimping, test. Mirrors with frosted pattern even better, see if somebody has made it yet. Investigate use of Flatbaki's garden terrain edge to make truck loading bay in basement. Still need servers for sub-basement research facility. For that matter, I don't even know what a server looks like these days, custom item may not be req. Find out how to generate the roof stairwell exit. Ground level secret passages completely naff, remove.

Sculptors

or, Educate Yourself About Contemporary Art You Philistine

Henry Moore - abstract bronzes
Pablo Serrano - hmmm. Lots to look at there
Jacques Lipchitz - Cubist
Isamu Noguchi - Biomorphism (wth??!) furniture too
Louise Nevelson - abstract expressionist
Tony Smith - minimalist
Donald Judd - minimalist - can see myself going off on a tangent there.
Anne Truitt - a bit cross-genre. Some of that styling would look *really really* good
Richard Serra - another minimalist (I seem to be a fan)
Dan Flavin - minimalist - should have already known that name
Carl Andre - minimalist HOLY CRAP as above, BUT MORESO
Anthony Caro - abstract
Ernest Trova - surrealist
Robert Graham - boobies! nnmmnnmneemm Love some, hate the rest, guess that makes it real art

And sometimes, Google isn't all that useful. Trip to Alexander Library in order once assignments caught up with, methinks. At very least know what school of art to research now.

Lights for TS3

They are really, really boring. REALLY boring. Any modern or upmarket older house is rendered lacking by the absence of lighting suitable for use as a feature. People have cranked out fifty gazillion terribad hairs and posters and clothes and eyes and boxy unbelievable furniture sets, why on earth the absence of lighting?

This could be pulled off with a sane polycount, surely.

Buildings I Really Like

I'm no Jørn Utzon. Most of the things I tinker with are copies, variations or bizarre crossbreeds of buildings or designs I admire. To that end, I'm compiling a list of architecture that I find beautiful, inspiring, unique or desirable. This way it will be easier to pull myself up on the blatant plagiarism.

Reid Library
Hadley Hall
J Edgar Hoover building
Boston Concert Hall
the Pantheon
TBC

CAW river valley project

Can rabbit holes be combined? Haven't noticed custom ones yet, but haven't really been looking
-bookshop/cafe
-hospital shrunk to surgery
-library/gallery

Minimum size population required to keep it ticking over?
Eroded limestone texture for cliff walls
Landscape backdrop, islands are getting old
